Home staging with Sell in Style Staging: a few questions answered - Partial styling.

The following tips should be considered for the installation date of the furniture, the date of photography and for each open inspection.

  • Butlers pantry/walk in pantry - We recommend heading out to Kmart and buying some of their small storage tubs - this will create an organised look, particularly for loose items. Around these storage tubs, the rest of the pantry just needs to be neatly arranged. Try and condense the area that is taken up to show the free space available. If your pantry is a closed cupboard, you don’t have to worry too much.

  • Beds - We will attempt to work as best we can with your bed base and mattress for the bedroom you wish to use throughout the campaign. We will dress the room with our own linen (excluding sheets), prints, bedside tables (if needed) and ornaments for the photoshoot and open inspections.

  • Bed Linen - For bedrooms that are being slept in and that we have provided linen for, we will provide bags for you to place this linen for when it is not needed. On the date of the photos and for each open, you will be required to remove your own linen and remake the bed with ours, don’t stress! It doesn't need to be exactly as we left it!

  • Outdoor Area - Provided the outdoor area is undercover, we will provide outdoor furniture for the available space. If it is not undercover, we will consider the use of occasional outdoor chairs provided that they are only placed outside for the dates of photography and open inspections.

  • Towels - We bring our own towels for styling, so have your rails empty and ready. On the day of the photoshoot and for the open inspections, make sure these towels are out on display, however, they can be put away into the bags supplied once these days are completed.

  • Plants/Greenery - We love using greenery in our styling and will always try to incorporate any plants you have in your home provided they suit the space well. To make it as easy for us as possible, we ask that all plants are placed on the kitchen bench top and from there, we will choose where to place them while we complete our styling. We will try and use them all, however, if there are any left over, we will place these outside.

  • Personal Items- It's important to remember that you’re trying to sell your ‘house’, not your ‘home’ as such. Personal items such as family photos, fridge magnets, cooking appliances including kettles, toasters, coffee machines etc should be put away for the photoshoot and the open inspections.

  • Walk in Wardrobes - Since you're living in your home, your clothing is expected to be present throughout the campaign. That's okay, however, all we recommend that you do a tidy up of the area which consists of: neatly hanging clothes in some form of order (i.e. tops together, bottoms, dresses etc), shoes are paired together and either placed out of sight or displayed neatly and lastly, any washing or dirty clothes can not be seen.

  • Pets - We love our fur animals just as much as you do, however, making sure all of their beds, food bowls and leads are put away for the photoshoot and open inspections.
